What is Your Mission?

‘So what do you do?’ The default question we get asked at every networking event and professional gathering.

Now the default response of [insert generic title] has you blend into the sea of other suits that are there but let me run you through how you can stand out and blow their minds with your response. Re-frame the question to ‘What Is Your Mission’.

If you cant explain your mission to me in a few sentences then you don’t understand it yourself. So before you go build a Personal Brand on flimsy foundations you need to go refine that bad boi.

Your mission gives you clarity on why your here, who you serve and what you need to do to serve them when things get hard.

Your mission also serves as your elevator pitch (and response to the networking drone in front of you haha). Here’s a great way to structure it and mine for example:

Elevator pitch format.

I help [who] do/achieve [what] without [common pain], using [your unique method].

Luke Sartor, ‘I help founders and professionals build authentic Personal Brands that they can leverage. Using my unique creative style and BRAND STACK method to attract an audience that brings them opportunities and they can monetise.’

Now I’m not a woo woo kinda guy but the next step is to define your 3 values. Why 3? Cause one's a slogan, two's a pair and four's a shopping list.
Its so important to know what the 3 most important values are for your brand and product so that it shows up in everything that you do. Keep them simple.

Mine are - Useful, Different & Fun. Every product, client engagement and piece of content needs to embody these values.

Defining your niche is equally as important because if your product and brand is for everyone then you are for no one. Being specific with your niche allows you to speak directly to your ideal audience, have them hard core buy into your brand and purchase from you when you have a product for them.

And fiiinnnalllyy you need your brand words. These are different to your values because these are how your brand looks and feels. Its how you show up in your visual, written and audible content.

Mine are BOLD . RAW . MINIMAL …… if you cant see this in my work, well you must be viewing in braille 😂.

Lock in your mission, values, niche and brand words and I GUARANTEE you that the next time someone asks you, ‘What do you do’. You’ll blow their minds 🤯
