Freestyle MTB Nutter - Dane Folpp

I don’t think you understand just how MASSIVE these jumps are… Every time Dane would hit them while we were filming the little boy inside of me would go, ‘holy shit that was cooooool!’

I met Dane last year when I was shooting another mountain bike psycho Sam Fraser, and ever since we have been trying to line up a shoot together for my Immortals project. The stars finally aligned for me to head of to northern NSW to shoot Dane at his compound. You can check out my YouTube video for bts of the day. (and me losing my mind at the size of these jumps 😆)

For only 18, Dane is the most down to earth dude and is competing at the highest level of freestyle mountain biking on the global stage. He has competed and won events in Canada, Europe, New Zealand and Australia. This is so exciting, to be so young and already so elite, I’d bet the farm that Dane will become one of the new legends of the sport.

Not only is his skill insane but his mental maturity is equally as impressive. When most teenagers would be more focused on dumb shit, Dane has been laser focused on becoming a world champion someday (probably just around the corner). I sat down for an interview with him and was blown away with his grounded responses to mountain biking, his mindset and life. You can watch is here.

Needless to say I was stoked on the day and had an incredible time shooting and getting to know Dane. I’m keen to track his future and cant wait to head back down and shoot some more sending action 🚀.
