Japan Feels - BTS

I actually felt a little chill this morning ❄️ - with the colder weather approaching it made me have the feels for our snowboarding trip to Japan earlier this year. Let me take you on a little BTS of our trip to the orient.

A great place to relax at lunch at Tsugaike ski resort is out the front of the Burger King and mid mountain eatery. MASSIVE marshmallows in the fire were delicious.

The older Japanese skiers always have the coolest retro get up.

Ben and I have been friends since we were 15 and have been to Japan 5 times together. I look forward to re taking this photo there when we are 50.

Outside our own little chalet where our snow man decided to take a nap. 😴

The morning light in this beautiful bakery (Japan has incredible bakeries) was so stunning and look how far up the wall the snow was. The snow was unreal this year with some snow walls being 12ft high!

The rabble you see over there. My old section commander and friend from when I was in the Army was there the same time we were, so many boarding days and meals were shared - so good.

The Katsu Curry at this restaurant was out of this world 🤤.

Inside Matsumoto Castle, we had to take our shoes off and walk around this cold as hell 16th century palace. We could all feel our shins turning to ice! haha

There are many amazing cafes in Hakuba but most in the Japanese way don’t open until 830, so when you find one that’s owned by an Aussie and you can grab a morning brew - its gunna be a good day.

Car parks limited - snow unlimited.

My lil snow leopard and big boof head mate waiting for some ramen.

Happy me with days filled with friends, snow and ramen. 2026 trip is loading and I’m keen to take you on our next adventure.
